Dear Jerk -- no one told you to read the very old post. It's not the lawsuit, per se, that matters, it's the content of it, the lies that Monty told then and how he handled events -- and let's not forget that this one lawsuit followed others where he treated horses with cruelty. Monty claims ALL his training techniques came from him alone. I would be willing to bet that the other trainers you mention would have no problem in stating that their ideas were fashioned from the work of others (their fathers if that's the case) and that they refined their practices because of their own positive experiences in working with animals.

Sadly, Monty Roberts is not a person who has ever learned from his mistakes because he keeps telling the same lies at the expense of many people. And people have indeed suffered as a result of his lies. He was then and still is only interested in power and fame. OF COURSE the message about treating horses with kindness and respect is a good one, no, a great one, but Monty Roberts has been accused of cruelty to the same animals he professes to love and witnesses will attest to that. The people who believe Monty's message are people who would have believed it no matter who told it -- they love and respect horses and most likely always have.

Good for you, Lyle, that you don't need, want or take benefits of any kind. I hardly think it's fair to send someone to war and then expect him or her to pay for her own health care when they get their legs blown off. In this country, the "options" you speak of are nonexistent for a good percentage of the population. I personally believe tha,t in many cases, the people who MAKE wars (congress) should be the ones who FIGHT wars.

All you people posting on here about needing travel pay are leeches on society. I dont tfeel you should be paid to go to the doctor. I served 14 years in the Corps (2 tours in Iraq) and no one ever gave me anything. I am eligible for it but I dont take advantage of the system. Your health is just that! Your health. It is your responsibility. Thats why we have medicaid and medicare. If you dont like the services you get at the VA, go somewhere else. Its not like you dont have options. I wish they would do away with it all together. I have already bombarded my congressman with the issue. Talk about economy and budgetissues. Yea right!

I think there are two sides to everything, and a lot of gray area. Not everybody is going to agree with you or approve of your decisions. I'm sure Monty Roberts, like every other person, has made many mistakes, but hopefully he's learning from them. It's always difficult to be in a position of fame or power, not only for the endless criticism one faces in the spotlight, but due to the constant temptations of more power. Regardless of the status of Monty's integrity, he has indisputably helped a good many people and fostered a love of horses in many people. Good and evil exists in everything and everyone, and I believe every story must be taken with a grain of salt.

Ray and Buck's father inspired Buck to teach the way he does. I am I huge believer in Buck Brannaman. So, Monty took his theories from his dad. Every horse trainer doesn't just come up with their own technic to train, they get an idea from somewhere else and run with it. Hell, lets call every one in the world frauds and put law suits on them. No one has a fresh idea that purley came from themselves. There has to be something that triggered that idea, and for most it's another person that they get their inspriation from. We all feed off each other's ideas. Sure there are pros and cons to every story, just like this one. Some are with Monty, and some against him. You're all frauds really...getting your idea's from something else. Even if you went to see Monty, the argument you're giving is from the idea's he gave you first. And if you're going against him then your ideas are from law suits and the people that 'claim' they are right. Who is to say he is not right as well. Until technology advances let us understand the brain better then we will never know. LOST CAUSE. Stop bickering like old women who have nothing better to do than watch boring channels on TV and go to bingo night and get a life. If someone put a law suit against you I gaurentee you would defend yourself. Whether you gave up and told the truth or have impecable lying skills, some things are more important than others. A law suit that took place in 1999....time for it to die and for us to move on.

This article is NOT false. I witnessed first hand the things I wrote about at the clinics we were visiting. Secondly, it would help if you actually took note of the date on which the post was written. If things changed since then and they are now doing the right thing, then so be it. GREAT! BUT, at the time, they were screwing over the vets, something they tend to do a lot. Also, it should be noted that the person at the counter at the one clinic was not so generous as you. She went out of her way to PUNISH vets if she perceived they had "an attitude"! She should have been fired.
