Here are a few points to consider when it comes to solving the global financial crisis now.

1. Restructure Wall Street: no more speculation; no more bonuses. These people get a salary for what they do. Cap salaries.

2. Corporate Greed Factor: cap executive pay and eliminate bonuses. Executives are paid many times over the highest paid worker. They do not need bonuses rewarding them for doing what they should already be doing for what they are paid. And they certainly don’t need to be paid a bonus for taking a company in the wrong direction.

3. Profit Sharing: workers should have a stake in their companies. Committed employees should share in the profits by receiving stock shares. When people feel they are being treated fairly, productivity will increase.

4. Eliminate Lobbyists: our government officials have been beholden to special interest groups for too long to the extent that these groups are the ones actually in control. Cease and desist.

5. Congressional Pay & Perks: what do they do that they deserve to be paid triple or more the average American worker? Often, nothing. And if they are paid that much, why should do they get all those perks (freebies, like free haircuts, cars, etc.)? Your average American worker has to use his own car to get to work and pay for his own haircut, so should they.

6. Population & Environment Control: it is irresponsible to allow the human population to explode and use up all of our natural resources just as it is irresponsible for humans to destroy the environment and cause the extinction of other animal species. Ban toxic chemicals and pesticides. Grow only organic foods. Instigate active family planning programs, education and birth control measures. Adopting these measures will go a long way toward making us a healthier, wealthier nation which in the end will reduce costs related to education, health care, environmental cleanup and much more.

I’m angry. I’m angry that I’m angry. I loathe the fact that I am angry about being angry. It’s my right to be angry, however, so I vow not to loathe my anger.

I am fearful. I am fearful about my fear. It grows daily with each new news report about how I should be afraid of losing my job, losing my house, starving to death, losing my ability to care for my animals, getting older and not having health insurance. I am fearful about our environment and the loss of many species with the latest threat to the polar bears. I loathe the fact that I am so fearful about things that are beyond my control.

I wish I could be more Zen-like. Accept that which I cannot change. However, if I just accept things, even though I cannot change these things, don’t I just become complicit in the whole horrible process? That’s how I used to think many years ago which brought me nothing but ill health due to excessive stress. I worried about everything.

Now I just stress about almost everything then do mental exercises to alleviate my stress until the next stressful thing arrives. When the mental exercises don’t help, I pound my head against the wall to knock myself into unconsciousness. That helps until I wake up and remember what caused the stress that motivated me to knock myself unconscious.

I’ve tried seeing a psychiatrist until I realized that those people are as screwed up as everyone else and don’t know how to fix anything. They do know how to write out a prescription for anti-depressants, though. I won’t take them. You shouldn’t take them either. They don’t make the problems go away. Of course if you don’t have health insurance you can’t afford to buy them anyway. And, you’ll still lose your house or job or starve to death. Doesn’t that make you angry?

You know what helps? Spitting. If you get angry enough you should just spit. You can hear it and you can see it which means you can truly appreciate the awesome value of it. Spit at the wall; spit at the floor; spit at your local politician. It beats throwing expensive shoes. And when the spit dries on your wall or floor, feel free to color it with crayons to brighten up your world.

If the spit dries on your local politician, revel in the fact that he/she will now have to take their garment to the dry cleaners or else worry about whether or not they contracted some horrible disease from your ugly spit. They will become fearful and they will loathe you for your disgusting habit. What they sow, so shall they reap. That should make you happy.

The big banks have gotten a super big bailout from the U.S. government. This comes after they screwed over the public royally by doubling and even tripling credit card interest rates and ridiculous fees, decreasing or eliminating credit. After you sign on to their original terms, they arbitrarily change them and the bank you began with is no longer the bank holding your card. Does any of this seem fair? Does anyone have oversight over these practices? The government does have something called the Fair Credit Reporting Act but let’s face it – the government is in control of absolutely nothing when it comes to the banking industry.

Time to send a message. Since the public is funding these businesses through the big bailout, I think it should now be US calling the shots. A lot of people are having financial problems and many will default on their credit card payments. It’s going to show up on your credit report no matter how much you try to reason with the banks. I would suggest that people stop paying off their debts and when the debt collectors start calling you tell them to take out your payments from the bailout money they received from YOUR tax dollars — remember, the money you paid when you actually had a job. Then, you can tell them that if they still need more money, they should get it back from the overpaid CFO/CEO fuckers who created this mess in the first place.

I’ve been seeing those Walmart commercials about buying a prepaid Visa card. It seems a good way to go as a backup to carrying cash. Obviously once you tell the banking industry to go fuck themselves you’ll never get credit again, at least not for about 7-10 years, but the way things are going in general, you wouldn’t get it anyway. Are there going to be any jobs left in the United States? The word “depression” is now on everyone’s lips. Scary stuff, indeed.

Our self-proclaimed claim to fame as the most intelligent species on the planet doesn’t hold an ounce of water. Almost every problem we face as a society can be traced to overpopulation yet it’s the one subject we refuse to address. Why? Oh my goodness, we might insult someone. My response? Too fucking bad. The truth is the truth and if you can’t handle it, go hide your head in the sand and wait till the nuke hits or the planet implodes.

In Los Angeles, all you have to do is take a look at any freeway and you’ll understand the concept of overpopulation. Or, you can look toward the hills, or at least what used to be hills, before developers bulldozed the trees and shrubs and turned our environment into the ugly boxes they call houses. Why? “People have to live somewhere”, the phrase goes. My response? Yeah, they can live in Mexico and other Latin American countries from which they came. Who says that the United States is obligated to support every other country’s population? Other nations should contend with their own people and if the people don’t like the government or situation they find themselves in, then they should work to better it where they are. And if they’re too stupid to figure it out, then that’s when the concept of “survival of the fittest” comes in to play.

Furthermore, why don’t the banks, corporations and developers develop those countries instead of overdeveloping and therefore overpopulating ours? And most important, if the Catholic Church is going to tell the people of all of these nations that it’s wrong to practice birth control then I think ALL of these people should be supported by the Catholic Church. They should all show up in Vatican City and load their babies onto the altar of God.

Africa has been a disaster since forever. The land can’t support the population. Have you ever seen a news story out of there that didn’t include famine, starvation, disease, genocide and women with 5-10 children? Birth control? God forbid; that would be too logical.

Man tries to control every other species on the planet but won’t control his own mess. Climate Change — some assholes in government and the scientific and corporate communities say climate change is not a problem. Their phrase goes like this: “the planet has healed itself in the past and there have always been climate changes going on.” My response? When in the history of the planet have we ever had such a massive number of people and such a massive number of businesses all doing things to adversely affect the environment?

Some people just won’t accept the truth because they don’t have to. These are greedy individuals who make money from everyone else’s misery or who get to remain in control at the top of the ladder – the rich sons of bitches who saunter through life while others mire in the muck. Corporate executives, rich government officials, you know them; you see them on the news everyday. They literally get away with murder – they allow our environment to be destroyed; they make excuses not to address important social issues because they’re afraid they won’t get re-elected. They do absolutely nothing but feed themselves. How did the world get so topsy-turvy?

If we as humans exercised social responsibility in any meaningful manner, we would have controlled our population many years ago and not run rampant across the planet killing or pushing out of existence every other species. Self-control is the one thing the human being cannot and will not learn. Shame!

Think before you act. You want to have a child? My first response is why? I have a really hard time buying into the concept that every married couple needs to have children in order to feel complete. In this overpopulated environment I think that is remarkably selfish. Then I might say “Adopt one”. You want to have a child? My next response might be “NO”; you’re too stupid to bring up a child. You want to have a child? Do you have the funds to support this child 100%? That means food, clothing, education, medicine? What about the people on welfare or teen parents or people who have a bunch of children already and cannot afford to rear them? What the hell gives them the right to dump their kids on the rest of us and force us to support them? Nothing.

Here they come with outstretched hands once again. The big three American automakers, General Motors, Ford Motors and Chrysler have no shame. They got a a ton of money a few weeks ago in a government sponsored bailout and now they want more. There’s no disputing that these companies employ a few million workers and that they would be the ones who suffer from the companies’ decline, but here’s the problem with the bailout.

Let’s go way back, for a moment, to the 1970s when America experienced the horror of the Middle East oil embargo. The ones who fared the best back then were owners of small cars. Neither the oil companies nor the automakers responded in any relevant way, not even when people traded in their gas guzzlers for the much smaller and fuel efficient cars manufactured by foreign companies. American automakers stood firm in their stupid decision to make big, big crappy cars and gas guzzling trucks. Then they complained that their sales were down.

We saw Toyota, a Japanese company, become the biggest seller in the United States. Shame on American car makers, shame. They started the industry and then they ran it right into the ground. They are incompetent.

It doesn’t matter how much money is given to them by the government, they’ll waste it through bad decision making. Starting in the 1970s is when these companies should have retooled their plants to create cars that were highly efficient and offered exceptional safety. Ford Motors is the company that manufacturers perhaps the world’s most unsafe car. Give them more money, why?

The other problem with a government bailout is that our government itself is incompetent. Even the first money they gave them did not have any strings attached. There is no accountability. Just like the giant insurance company AIG which got a government bailout and then obscenely spent the money on entertainment for its officers and exorbitant corporate pay, what’s to prevent the automakers from abusing the money the same way? And if the people in charge have screwed up so royally before, why would the government think that they will now make good decisions and be able to implement them.

I have no confidence in these companies’ abilities to do anything right. The sad thing is, as always, it’s the average citizen who will pay for corporate and government mistakes. — filed 11/13/08

Dear Wall Street Greedy Pigs and Incompetent Bankers Everywhere: We, the Congress of the American people want you to have $750-billion dollars so that you can further abuse the people’s money; even throw it down the toilet; we don’t care. But we know you’ll just pocket the money as you always do.

We want all you greedy pig CEOs to pay yourselves tens of millions of dollars each and every year, not because you did a good job and actually deserve that money (hell, no one deserves that obscene amount of money, not even Hollywood mega-stars), but because you’re able to get away with it. You do, after all, run the show.

We know there is absolutely no oversight of those payouts and golden parachutes. We know that because we’re the ones who did away with any important regulations that might prevent it. We did that because we’re just as greedy as you and we want to thank you for all the special interest money you’ve thrown our way over the years. You’ve kept us in office so that we can make laws that screw over 99.9% of the population, so that we can pay ourselves lots of money and also get away with it, so that we can buy ourselves luxurious houses and never have to worry about losing our mortgages and because, well, we just like playing Gods.

Actually, we think you’re the ones really playing Gods; that would make us your minions. But, we’re rich minions, so that will do nicely. What are you doing for dinner tonight? Want to come over and plan another bailout? Oh, I forgot, we did that already: a couple of car companies, a wooden arrow company (what was that for again? We can’t remember; we just know it was something we had to do so the American people wouldn’t continue to suffer from financial ruin.)

Love is never having to say you’re sorry. We just love you guys. And we know you love us too. originally filed Oct. 23, 2008
