ALS Cured After Stunt Goes Viral? Big Question Unanswered

After scores of celebrity lemmings engaged in one-upmanship by taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, researchers predicted a cure was almost at hand, although it could take another 100 years.

Donations for the cause have been streaming in from people across the globe who enjoyed watching the celebrity lemmings jump at challenges made by fellow lemmings, each trying to top the other in absurdity or sheer volume of participants in a single action.   Other factors included the size of the ice bucket, the proportion of water to ice and even what the lemmings were wearing: suits versus sweats.  Some dumped the buckets of ice water over their heads while standing on lawns; others chose sitting next to a pool on concrete and there were dozens of variations in between.

Famed cancer researcher Oscar Goodnight (not his real name because the poor man has been getting death threats recently) said it was sad that people only react to stunts and that when the stunts are over people quickly forget about the issue. Dr. Goodnight hoped that other similar challenges would take place to support research for other diseases like cancer, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, obesity, MS, Ebola, MERSA, auto-immune, autism, and on and on.  He said there were simply too many to name.  He suggested the celebrity lemmings could dump rotten cabbages over themselves to make an even greater impact.

There is no cure for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The videotaped ice bucket challenge, while making a contribution to the ALS Association, has raised more than $15  million according to The Hollywood Reporter, a news magazine that tracks various lemming activities.  So is it a worthy cause?  Of course it is.  But so are so many others that will never get the kind of attention the ALS challenge has.  How much money can your average person donate with all the diseases out there needing continued research?

Dr Goodnight also pointed out that cancer will most likely never be cured because the U.S. government (and the AMA) hides and disallows research into alternative methods because conventional chemo/surgery treatments are big profits for the pharmaceutical industry and cancer specialists.  “But is anyone dumping buckets of ice water in support of alternative research freedom in this country?”, asked Dr. Goodnight.  No.   Maybe others should stand up and make a video demanding the right to alternative treatments for all dreaded diseases and tell the government to shove it’s totalitarian support of pharmaceutical companies profits up its Big ASS.

“Want justice? Report any scam, fraud, complaint or review on any type of company, individual, service or product… Consumers educating consumers”.

That’s how founder-owner Ed Magedson promotes his company RipOffReport  on the internet.  There you’ll be free to your heart’s delight to complain about anybody.  Why it could be a big badass company that deserves your wrath for the way it’s ripping off thousands of consumers like you …OR …it could be your next door neighbor who you’ve had a beef with.  All you have to do is write a scathing report, true or false-it doesn’t matter, and with the click of a button, it’s published on the internet from now until bloody doomsday.

That’s the way Ed Magedson  likes it.  He takes no responsibility and doesn’t have to since he’s just a third-party publisher just like the Google owned YouTube where you can post sick defamatory content and they won’t take that down either.  Here’s what wikipedia says: “The Ripoff Report website claims that its stated policy is to refuse to remove reports. Ripoff Report states that it does not allow authors to remove their own reports, even in cases where a mistake has been made.[2]  Furthermore, the site states it will generally not remove reports in response to legal demands from attorneys.”  That’s really interesting that the authors of the reports can’t remove their own content.  Wikipedia goes on to say: “Many companies and individuals have sued Ripoff Report.[18] [needs update] Ripoff Report has also sued many commentators that have been critical of it.[citation needed]”  (you can view the entry here:  Oh, oh, what’s the matter Ed, can’t take your own medicine?

If RipOffReport allowed posts only against large corporations that resort to scams and routinely harm individuals  – like the scamming phone or insurance companies – then that would be acceptable.  Most people would welcome the opportunity to publicly complain about these types of companies especially since the FTC and Attorney Generals’ offices usually won’t bother responding to complaints.  But that isn’t good enough for Ed Magedson.  No, he has to allow your average individual to be defamed across the internet for whatever crazy reason and make it so that no one, under any circumstances, can get the shit removed.  That says a lot about Ed.  And sadly, there are other internet scumbag scam reporting companies and websites that do the same thing.  You can put something up but you can’t take it down.  Ed Magedson also brags that RipOffReport has a whole bunch of other affiliated websites available to spread his company’s shit-ass “reports”. Perhaps you’ve seen them.  Websites with strange names – they will pick up a particular report that’s been filed and run it to death so that the injured party is forever bloodied.   A person’s reputation can’t be repaired and the reports will never be removed.    Did the person deserve it?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  But is it really appropriate to have privately feuding assholes display their disputes on the internet and then have their rants go rogue thanks to Ed Magedson’s despicable RipOffReport.

Mr. Magedson’s response has always been that the reports must be preserved for history that’s why he won’t remove them.   So if you make a mistake or acted in the heat of the moment, too bad.  On Ed’s RipOffReport the belief is that “Love is never having to say you’re sorry”.  Apparently it’s the same thing with HATE.

We as a society recognize Hate Crimes.  It’s a shame Ed Magedson can’t or won’t recognize the harm his refusal to remove defamatory posts can do.  And he simply gets away with because he’s just a third-party publisher (per Communications decency Act 230 Immunity) who doesn’t have to take any responsibility so he won’t.

EVEN IF you want to defend RipOffReport’s rights, why doesn’t Ed Magedson allow the author of a report to remove the content if they’re the one putting it up in the first place?  It is malicious in his intent to keep up reports that serve no purpose if they are between individuals and not mega corporations.

Bottom line:  RipOffReport is a means to scam, defraud, defame on a grand scale.   The website has been online since December 1998 fucking people over right and left.  It’s operated under the guise of Ed Magedson’s Xcentric Ventures, LLC allegedly based in Tempe, Arizona.

Supreme Court Takes on Gay Marriage Issue

Democracy, constitutional rights, freedom against discrimination, the concept of separation of church and state, do they not mean anything in this country?

The Supreme Court has been taking up two issues related to the rights of gays to marry.    They shouldn’t have to.  The people who oppose gay marriages do so based mostly upon religious indoctrination.    They should mind their own business.

Gay people getting married do not harm or imposition anyone else.
When the opposition came up with the ludicrous contention that marriage NOW is solely for the purpose of procreation, that should have been a signal to everyone that the crazies are truly running the asylum.

What’s next?  Forbidding menopausal women from marrying?

AMERICA…wake up.   Enough with the stupidity.

Catholic Church and the Pope

Special to USA Views by Cecelia Kraveo

What is it about the world media and its obsession with the selection of a new Pope?  Is it really going to make a difference in changing the backward thinking of this religious organization with its elitist, hypocritical views?

With the rampant sex abuse scandals, how can any Catholic continue to support this pathetic organization?  How do Catholics justify the rampant conspicuous wealth on display at the Vatican?  Whatever happened to the vow of poverty?  How do the Pope, cardinals and bishops justify it?

Overpopulation.  Another issue the Catholic Church ignores.  Dump all the unwanted sick, dying children on the steps of the Vatican.  Let the Catholic Church pay for their care and upkeep.  When poor people who can’t afford to care for their children keep producing them because of the urging of the Catholic church, it’s an abomination.

Catholics, please think!  The rest of the world should shun this religion.

For too long we have been too complacent about  the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress  could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically  exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being  exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment, or being allowed to engage in insider trading) while ordinary  citizens must live under those laws.  Remember the recent government shutdown?  Government employees weren’t paid among many others.  But congressmen not only got paid on time, they enjoyed myriad benefits like being able to continue exercising in their own gym.  It’s not as if their gym was a necessary government expenditure at the same time everyone else was having their lives turned upside down and being forced underwater from no paychecks to pay their mortgages or anything else.  It was a disgraceful display of FRAUD on the American people and those pigs are still in office, feeding at the public trough!

The latest is to exempt themselves from  the Healthcare Reform that passed … in all of its forms. Somehow, that  doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever.  The  self-serving must stop.

A 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the  United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or  Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators  and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the  United States .”

Those in favor of such a law — please leave your comments.  Are you  fed up yet or what?  The only way Congress is going to act ethically is to have a law that forces them to.  Unfortunately, they’re the ones making the laws.  That, in itself, is a massive conflict of interest.  That’s why the proposed 28th amendment will never pass and that’s sad and wrong.

Airport Body Scanners Obscene and Dangerous

This is an interesting story By Dr. William Campbell Douglass on which was originally posted at under the title: “X-Rated Airport Scanner’s First Victim”.

An Indian film star has found himself the subject of an unexpected nude shoot.  You’ve probably never heard of Shahrukh Khan, but to call him an Indian actor would be like calling Stephen Spielberg a guy who makes films in California.

Khan is one of the world’s richest and most successful movie stars, even if he’s a complete unknown in the United States. He ranked 41st on Newsweek’s list of the world’s most powerful people last year — ahead of mighty Oprah, and only five places behind the Pope.

I’m not about to confess my secret love of Bollywood films — I’d never heard of the guy myself. But he’s got a cautionary tale for all of us, and it happened on a screen where Big Brother wants all of us to be the star.

“King Khan,” as he’s known, had the misfortune of strolling through one of those new full-body airport scanners I’ve been warning you about…the kind that peek beneath your clothing and snap an image of your privates, just in case you’re hiding weapons beneath your scrotum.

Airport officials and security “experts” have sworn up and down that these images aren’t saved…and that faces are automatically blurred so the screener, who’s in an isolated location, has no idea who’s getting Big Brother’s electronic evil eye.

But try telling that to Khan — because he says he was later greeted by airport workers in London who had printouts of his x-rated X-ray.

So much for their privacy claims — I hope you didn’t buy that hogwash in the first place. If low-wage airport workers can rape his privacy and get away with it, they can do far worse to you.  Meanwhile, their bogus safety claims are already getting a second look too.

The Inter-Agency Committee on Radiation Safety says these things pose a health risk — and that pregnant women and children should not be forced through them. The report — which wasn’t meant to be made public — also said governments should have to justify their use of these radiation machines.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

Remember: There is NO safe level of ionizing radiation. If you have to fly in Big Brother’s world, I feel bad for you — because the plan is for EVERY air traveler, including pregnant women and babies, to pose for the government’s candid cameras.

Health Care Reform Bill Sucks

The bill passed by congress is fairly useless.  There is really only one kind of health care reform that should have been passed and that is UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE!   We need to put the concepts of “health” and “care” back into the equation.  Right now all we got is very minor insurance company reform.

1.  Insurance companies are only in it for profit.  They just want you to pay into the system and then deny you coverage when you actually try to use your insurance.

2.  No current system actually respects or rewards staying healthy.  If they did, then you’d be able to deduct vitamins and supplements as the cost of staying healthy from your taxes or insurance companies would pay for these items.

3.  Control the population and you will control costs.

4.  Illegal immigrants should be treated as necessary but a bill for the cost of the service should be sent to the originating country.  Ideally, anyone in the country illegally should be instantly deported and cared for in their homeland.  The United States should not have to pay for the entire world and anyone who does not see that is deeply delusional.

5.  Our government needs to step up to the plate, so to speak, and stop rewarding companies that make garbage food products with tax breaks and contracts.  If we can have mega companies making trash then we can have these same companies producing quality and truly organic foods for the masses.

6.  Individuals need to wake up and start making healthier choices.  They would be helped in this regard if the big food companies didn’t think it was okay to feed us low-nutrient, high-fat, high-sugar, pesticide/hormone/antibiotic-laden CRAP.

7.  The government is downright ignorant when it comes to pasteurization of dairy products.  RAW MILK is very safe and highly nutritious and boosts immunity.  RAW nuts should be allowed to be just that — RAW, not pasteurized which destroys nutrients.  Our government is a knee-jerk organization without any common sense whatsoever.  Any well educated complementary/alternative medicine practitioner knows the truth about these quality foods.
